The boardhockey, or the table hockey, is a game based on quick thinking and reaction. It is plaied on ~1 metre long board, outwardly imitating the arena of ice-hockey. Now there are world championships in this game - or sport because the level of playing is too high for game. The WCh win Swedes always (also the standard of tables is Swedish "Stiga"), many strong players are also in Finland, Czechy, Norway. At last years Latvia and Russia are much developed, having a great experience of old Soviet boards.
At 2005. in Latvia will be the WCh. Although our organization abilities were critized - and well-founded - strictly, I think this tournament will be organized normally. But I fear it will be the first and the last time when any great tournament will be organized normally in Latvia. The real enthuziasts are in a too small number here.
